Europe
at the turn of the 21st century is struggling with various economic problems, e.g. relatively slow growth, lack of innovation and high unemployment. Despite achievements in the social area, it seems that Europe is still lagging behind in the area of free enterprise, business initiative and bold ventures that could make Europe the global centre of innovation.
The European Business Society at the University College Utrecht (Dutch liberal arts college) is a group made up mostly of young university students, primarily at the University College Utrecht and, in the future, at other universities in the Netherlands, Europe and beyond.
The principal and long-term aim of the European Business Society at the UCU is, gradually contribute to the solution of the economic problems of Europe, mentioned above.
Our approach is unique and consists of three elements:
Excellence:
EBS aims at enhancing business skills of its members by organising educational programmes and courses. In line with the motto of the UCU, we are eager to excel.
Brotherhood:
EBS aims to build strong bondages between its members by fostering the sprit of friendship. The long-term aim is to create strong social networks
Service:
EBS tries to instill in its members the spirit of service. We try to show social and ethical dimensions of business.
